Allied forces stormed the beaches of Normandy to bring freedom to the captives and death to the captors.

God Bless each and every one of those who set foot on those bloody beach heads.

Lest we forget. There are 9,387 American GI's still over there. Most died at Normandy.

    Thank you for reminding me. They are the true heroes, truly courageous young men, as are all in the military both past and present. It is good of you to remember and honor them.

    A big thanks for the reminder from me too, Mark. This day tends to slip a little more in my mind than Dec. 7th. Maybe if I wrote a check or two today...

    Uncle Ned was shell shocked on the beach, sent home and back to fight again. Thank God my Dad shipped over a month or so later or I might not be here.

    That is the end of the Gettysburg Address. It popped into my mind as it relates to our European involvement in WWII. We will not forget!

    You guys all know how I feel about "The Greatest Generation". Even the women. It's all been said before.
