what you are looking at is a gas furnace and a Heat pump instead of a condenser with a controle (thermostat) that based on out door temp determens which unit to use to create heat. that set up is avabile from most manufactures and we have been installing them for years. any time we change out a L.P system we offer the heat pump (hybird heat)system. when you can (typicaly above 38 deg) the heat pump will save you roughly 50% over the cost of heating w/ L.P
