has to want to covert!
If you are heating and know your temperature rise you can do this. It also depends on the air density (altitude and temperature of air) being moved.
BTUH/(1.085 x TR)
So if you have 38,838 BTUH and a 50 degree rise, your air flow will be 716 CFM, roughly. A 20x8 or 24x8 duct will do nicely.

btu to cfm
can anyone tell me the how to convert btu to cfm want to put in central air heat loss is 38.8380 -
John,
Sounds like you are trying to add a central air coil to an existing forced hot air system. Just put a unit in the attic, or have your sons lug out the old window units.0 -
We had one client trying to retrofit a cooling coil into a fifteen year old heating system. In the imortal words of Rube Goldberg, "Don't try this at home".0 -
John, Here in Texas where it is hot, we know that heat rises and cool air falls. Save some money, time, and future agrivation. Have an AC contractor put an attic unit in and let nature do its thing.0
