Any one have any issues using RV winterizing houses? I flush it through the domestic water lines and have found many weeping solder joints that will just pull apart by hand. I have always turned on these systems and after a few months in the lines it will always come out the same color it went in, but not this stuff. Some has come out windshield washer blue and in another house purple. I dont get it, I have closed these houses the same way with the same brand of antifreeze for 6 years with no problems.

RV antifreeze
I have done houses, logging/mining camps & RV's, for over 20 yrs. No problems to date. What mfg. is your stuff? What does it smell like? I had some that smelled odd, but no problems, & no color change. Did you check the PH?0 -
I had the PH checked in both the anti freeze and a water sample and both were within acceptible numbers. The only number that was high in the water sample was the iron content. It smells normal. In the solder joint pictures the yellow stuff on the floor came out of the pipe. ??

BLUE = ionic copper
IF you are seeing blue or purple (red + blue). you have copper dissolving into solution. It could be electrical like a reversed polarity cathode protection system. Or it could be electrochemistry from ????.
Back in the late 1980's or very early '90's, an upscale housing development near Oakland CA had blue water. It turned out to be a cathode protection system for the gas lines was hooked up with reversed polarity. It ended up dissolving the copper water lines in this development. Does this house have city gas or water? Or a solar electric array with batteries?0 -

This problem is in 3 different houses with 5 more to go.
They are all on private wells.

Call the manufacturer opf the anti freeze and ask them...0 -
not sure buh maybe it has something to do with aluminium
Larry the water heater guru may be able to shed some light on how that could occur ...salts in a system might lend to the effect you have observed...0 -

What is the blue pipe in pic. 1 made of?0 -
Back on line. Ionic copper
Sorry about the late reply, I somehow caught a nasty computer virus.
Are the houses all serviced from the same electric company? NEC requires connecting the Electric system neutral to the earth thru grounding electrodes including metallic water pipes that extend into the earth 10 feet or more.
I am suggesting that the houses may share a common metallic system that has a current that is flowing to earth. This common system could be the Electric service, cable TV, Telephone, Gas, or water. All of these systems are bonded to the electric system inside the house thru the appliances, and then connected to the water lines by the boiler, well pump, water softener, water heater, clothes washer, or dishwasher.
Has any utility work been done in the area within the last 18 months? Any lightning strikes which may have destroyed the existing bonding / grounding wires?
Do you know any electricians in the area that could check this out?
The high Iron content could also indicate that any steel pipes in contact with the earth are also corroding due to reversed polarity of the galvanic protection system.
Or, I am completely wrong and there is something else at work.
