How do we stop a leak in the floor by a 1950 delco water floor h

My mate and i Just bought a home last year. Today we found our living room a soak spot and we figured that maybe it was the 1950 Delco Water Heater. At times it would heat the home nicely, other times it would leave us cold. My mate has been wondering if it was the water pressure or does it need just a simple bleeding to clear the pipes? I will be able to reply by tomorrow afternoon. Please help us!!!!!

I don't know
about anyone else, but I don't understand what you're talking about. I think you need to provide some more information.
is this a water heater to heat the domestic hot water you use for bathing etc., or is it a boiler to heat your home, or are you heating your home with a domestic water heater? There may be lots of folks who know what you mean, but I do not.
Bleeding usually involves getting rid of the air in your pipes. Often you can hear gurgling or something. I'm not sure why you think that would cause a leak. And the "clearing the pipes" and " a leak in the floor" phrases have me confused. Perhaps you are from a country with a more elegant use of the English language than I practice out here in the sticks.
If you will explain your situation and your equipment a little more I'm sure someone here will help you.0 -
I am assuming you mean a Delco Boiler
Just the sound of it is old, it is always best when buying a home to have not only a home inspection but also members of the individual trade checking the equipment.
Best to go to find a pro and have someone check the entire system. You should also have annual preseason checks.

This Looks Neat!
Victoria,
I found this company at ISH-NA
www.fixmypipes.com
They line the pipes with epxy to seal them.
I have no idea how much, how long or how good.... but it looks neat.
