Two piece AC/heating units

I am finishing off a new family room on my house in Connecticut and have been looking at the two piece heating/AC units to service the room (18 x 20 with 12' ceiling). Asking around I have been told that both Sanyo and Mitsubishi make good units. I was told that getting parts for the Mitsubishi units is sometimes a problem. Anybody having any advice or suggestions would be of great help. Thanks in advance for your help. Chip

    If you live in CT

I would suggest that you look at the Fujitsu Model 12RLQ. It is a 21 SEER unit (highest in the industry) and the utility in CT is offering a $550 rebate on it. FYI, Freidrich mini-splits are manuf by Fujitsu under a labeling agreement and are made in China.

First find a good HVAC contractor , that is much more important than who makes the equipment. That being said we have sold the Mitsu units for about 20 years with very few issues . Parts are not a problem . The made in the USA units are just as hard to get parts for as nobody wants to stock parts for anything , takes up too much warehouse space and ties up too much money. it's becoming a real problem on heating equipment.
