Mono flo tee question

In either system, Monoflow or 2-pipe, some means of balancing are required. I recommend balancing valves on each return, not just the first ones. (In a perfect world, the furthest circuit would not need any for it defines the zone.)

Th purpose of balancing valves is to restrict those circuits which have excess pressure (those closer to the circulator typically). Objective is to have the pressure drops of all radiator circuits be equal.

    Mono flo tee question

Do you need monoflo tees if you're piping a radiator into separate supply and return lines?

I'm pretty sure you need them if you're drawing from and returning to branches off the same pipe, but I'm not sure about the scenario described above.

    No need for Monoflow Tees

if you have separate supply and return lines. The differential pressure between the lines (connecting discharge and suction sides of the circulator) is the motive force that does the work. Same pipe? Diverter tees (generic term for the type) are the only real way, you are correct.

Brad's right in his post, if u have very long supply and return loop, first 2 rads will need valve to control the flow, otherwise, the flow will short circuts...and the farest ones won't have enughh flow..
