List price.
Does any one know why Uponor's single groove light weight plates are more $$$ per plate than Joist track extruded plates?

I know it makes no sense to me either.
But I'm looking into a sandwich install, self made, and the light weights.

Yummmm, sandwich.
Extruded plates work well in this application. Varied centers depending on load from 6" to 9". Here are pics of both UFin and Cfin. I have been using C because the Ufin is not available here, plus using CFin is a one man operation.

I am glad you posted
that link, Andrew, if only to know that their web site will still "be up very soon" Seems like a nice company and products but how would anyone know? A word to the wise... perhaps a friendly web designer could assist them?0 -
Wirsbo always costs more
Everything from Wirsbo costs more - the have to cover the costs of their engineering and support departments - which are probably among the best in the industry.
Their plates cost almost twice that from other manufacturers. We use plates from Embassy industries - very nice fit, have to snap in firmly nice & tight. Very competitvely priced.
Used in these photos with 2 layers of 3/4 plywood.0 -
RE
They are a nice company with excellent products. I used to have the Thermofin brochure in pdf form, but I could not find it to attach it to my post. Last I heard, they had a web design company working on their site, but that was quite a while ago.0
