Vitodens Comfortrol
Man with a question
Member Posts: 69
Greetings Wallies,
I brought a Vitodens comfortrol home tonight to program in the comfort of my own home where it is usually a lot calmer than the job site.
Problem is...I think I just discovered that it has to be connected to the boiler in order the to access the installer's system settings ie. 8-32 model on board pump speed, etc.
Is this true?
What's the word?
By the way, to continue the discussion on the supremacy of Viessmann products. I always spec Viessmann right off. If they scream about price, I point out overall value. If it looks like I'm likely to lose the job unless I can bring the price down THEN I discuss less expensive alternatives. Always with a heavy heart though because I know they will spend less but it will cost us both more down the line in $, grief, and time.

Programming
The Comfortrol has to be attached to the boiler (or wall mount base) to accept any changes or program. It will remember the last changes and will not lose the settings when transferring into the wall mount base.

Limited access
It's got to be installed, plugged in and under power to program the unit. The only thing you can do with it out is: timing schedules. No deep programing till it can sense what you are doing. KW Electronics is a very innovative AND forward thinking CO.
