Why does my fulflo housing always leak

Ok so in two houses both with the fulflo filter,.every time I change this filter I always have it leak up by the upper air screw. I use a new filer and new gaskets, but I am clearly doing something wrong or missing something. I always gat a weep that results in a tablespoon here or there. Any tips would be most appreciated with this housing.

Replace the slotted screw with a cap screw. The 7/16 head is much easier to tighten than a slotted screw that has been abused over and over. I keep a handful in my box and change all the slotted screws. No more problems.

Leak
When you are changing out the filter, are you replacing all THREE gaskets? The gasket under the large nut is often overlooked.0 -
Yes, definitely all 3, the leaks do always seem to originate from the top two though. I guess I am not sure how tight to put it, I usually put pretty tight but not knuckle busting or anything. Thanks

Ken nailed it, replace the screw with a hex head, so you can get a 3/8 box wrench on it.
Better yet, replace the entire houseing and bowl, Its hard to say if you have one of the older style bowls with the rivet on the bottom, but eventually those leak also. The newer bowls have the bottom rivet welded, and those will come with the screw you need.
Cant tell you haow many homes I walk into that have had a new heating system installed in the past 5 years still using the same B-4 filter assembly.
While were talking about filters, Id recommend as I did above, replacing your fulflow B4 filter at the tank, and adding a garber, or westwood spin on filter at the burner, or just after the B4.
Good Luck.

filter
Best thing to do with a B-4 is to replace the whole thing.
