One pipe loop in attic

Gotta agree with Mike.

Convectors are designed to release heat 90% by convection (guess), and 10% by radiation (guess again). You will only get that 10% of the rated output from the emitter. You will have to jack water temps incredibly high to just to get a snow balls chance of success. Not a good plan.

Why not do full radiant ceiling?

    One pipe loop in attic

As anyone ever seen or done a one pipe loop in an attic then bring the convectors down about 6" from the ceiling in all the rooms. can this be done?

    thanks

    Opinion...

It can be done, but 2 factors to consider. Make sure you have an easy way to vent in the event of air lock. I don't think you will get the convection that you normally achieve with boards on the floor. Air has to move and since warm air rises, you may not get the air movement that you expect. When on the floor, that warm air is going to make a "B-Line to the ceiling giving you some flow and disburse as a result, but having it so close to the ceiling you probably will not get that affect. 3). If you do become air bound in the attic or have lack of flow,....Watch the sprinkler show begin. :-) I personally wouldn't do it.

    My 2 to 3 cents
