            run AC all day?
Here's a simple and basic question. What is the best way to run the central AC system in our house this coming summer? Should we set the temp and then run it all day, or should we turn it off or down when we leave for the day and then turn it on when we come back home in the evening? One person said to do the former, comparing it to running your car on the highway, versus the latter, which he compared to running your car in stop-and-go traffic.
What is best in terms of long-term survival of our system and in terms of current energy cost? (We have a high-velocity Unico 10-seer.) Thanks,

            Opinions.
Everyone has one and here's mine. I will set the house for what ever temp during the occupied hours 71* and during unoccupied, I will raise it to 76/77*. Although the temp goes up, I still want to control humidity levels at the new temp. Now if I go away for 2-3 days, I'll shut er down.
