Service Boiler

The unit should only need one vacuuming a year by a qualified technician. Your oil company should tell you if your unit needs to be serviced more than once a year. If you have problem oil lines, lack of combustion air, bad draft in chimney or any debris building up on your burner squirrel cage it will cause your unit to produce soot.I work for an oil company so rarely do we have to vacuum or service the boiler more than once a year. Use fuel additive, helps keep boiler cleaner.

Service Boiler
I have Weil McLain 368 st oilfired boiler,with tankless water heater. Should the boiler be serviced more then ,1 times a year, since it is used all year round. Thanks tom0 -
No,once should be enough.If it is required more often,adress the issues that are causing the need for excessive service{Sludge,insufficient combustion air etc}

I agree with Robert on this. Once a year is fine, if done properly. Use a good professional and rest easy.

Agree only once
The only ones we service by anual are commercial units in car wash and motel. However they rely on them for income.

Depends,....Where do you live?
my thinking is that when you have drastic temp changes then twice a year is maybe a requirement.
living in the central interior of any large land mass one would be experiencing the greatest temp changes each year.
tuning a boiler in 104 in the shade may be far different than 75 80 below:) justa thought.....0 -

If you are using antifreeze and are heating fluid year around, I recommend having the fluid checked for % of glycol and inhibitor twice a year. Question? Would you let your vehicle go without service.
