Closed water heating system
Why should a closed loop water boiler system be connected to a water supply after initial fill, if there are no leaks in the piping. Where dose the water go?0 -
where does the water go
It doesn't go anywhere, if there are no leaks. The autofill is there to maintain constant system pressure and to refill the boiler in the case of a leak or safety valve discharge. There is a school of thought that says to shut off the water supply after system start up, but you must have a low water cutoff that is operational and well maintain to leave the water off.
