buderus 115-34

Buderus makes this function really easy to use on the Logamatic.

Press & hold the suitcase (vacation) button then turn the dial to 13-14 days. When you return, the boiler will be back in its normal operation. Hopefully the summer mode;-)

Honestly, that equipment is so well insulated you won't lose more than a few BTUs 1/4º a day or less I believe. Hope this helps.

    buderus 115-34

I built a new house which I will eventually move into. Right now we are just there on weekends. The house has a Buderus 115-34 boiler, Carlin EZ1 burner, logamatic control, and a LT 300 hot water tank. Right now the boiler is in summer mode. If we won't be in the house for two weeks would it make more sense just to shut off the boiler. It seems like it would be a waste of energy to keep the water hot in the indirect tank for two weeks but I don't want to do anything to hurt the boiler. Any opinions on what to do in this situation. Thanks.

    boiler vacation

Use the vacation mode on the logimatic. I don't like to see any boiler go completely cold. Others may say shut it off and there are valid points to that arguement, but I would use vacation mode if it were mine.

I would agree with you on most boilers but I don't think it would harm the Buderus in the least to fire up from a cold start a couple times a month.

If I were the HO, I would call the good folks at Buderus and get the opinion of one of their fine techs. They are very helpful.

    Hi Gary,

That's 1/4 degree per hour but it still isn't much.

I have a 115-34 in my camp which I only visit once or twice a month with an indirect, I shut the boiler off when I'm not there from April thru Oct. I can't see the need to cycle the boiler once or twice a day to maintain the indirect. Some other manufacturers would not warranty the boiler under these conditions but you should have no problem with Big Blue.
