here on The Wall appreciate you and what you do. Kinda makes The Lovely Mrs. H the Queen Mum!

As for my mother, she (and dad) never once blinked as I headed down Blue Collar Lane. Nothing but support and encouragement to pursue my dreams. In the last five years, she's even managed to do what no teacher could before - teach me English grammar and punctuation rules.

    Mom

The most patient woman in the world.. Being the oldest son (and the most rebelious) I put that poor woman through the test. Stuck with me through the tattoos, piercings, band practices until the wee hours of the morning, motorcycles and every stunt to give her gray hair immaginable. But through everything, she never turned her back on me and was always the most supportive person in my life. I wouldn't be the man I am today without her. Love you mom!!

Hug your mother while you are fortunate enough to be able to..

The day I received my master plumbers lic had to be the proudest day for her. I remember her crying because it made her so happy(the only of 7 boys to make something) and to this day she still brags to everyone about it.She even gave me a gold plated 2 ft pipe wrench when I open my office. God bless my mom and the fact that my daughters get to spend time with her. She moved down south last year but the girls will be flying down to see her this summer. It's so nice to see them brining a youthful smile to her face and her wisdom and caring to them.

LIFE IS GOOD. It's not always easy but it is good.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL OF YOUR MOTHERS TOO!

    Saint Mom

My mom was a saint. She put up with a LOT from us four kids. She lost a battle with cancer just a month or so before I got married in 1978 (she had her MOG dress hanging on the door so she could see it from her bed, hoping it would help her make it to July. Talk about a heart breaker!)

Biggest regret in my life is that she had to put up with me growing up but never got to see me make something of myself.

But she knew Jesus as her savior, and now there are no more tears, no more pain, only joy.

Just selfish enough sometimes to wish she were here for my sake....

    My Mom

is an old farm girl. She could whip up a pie or anything without blinking. The most impressive thing I've seen her do has been keeping my Father alive. We almost lost him 3 years ago. Everyone including the Doctors said to make plans to lose him. She never gave up or even left his side and when he got through the worst she kept him working towards a better life. Today he is still alive and gardening for pleasure. The smartest thing he ever did was to fall in love with my Mom. Happy Mothers Day Mom. WW

    Mom

My Mom was from the WWII era and believed in God, Country and Family unconditionally. She prayed while waiting for Dad to come home from war. She raised 5 of us without complaint through good times and bad. Her extreme faith and strength after losing my Dad, my brother and sister will always be a source of inspiration to me. She was such and incredibly sweet and good person that I don't worry about her now that she's gone. I know she is with the Lord and who can worry about that? To all of those whose Moms are still here; Take care of them while you can. Life is too short. Happy Mother's Day Mom and to all the Moms out there. Both here on Earth and in Heaven.

In August Mom will be 85, she and my Dad met at a church dinner, dated on horseback and never missed an opportunity to tell us she Loved Us!

Following Dads passing in 1993 Mom has gotten out flying cross country twice a year and making frequent trips to visit family.

It's a strange day for us

My parents didn't really want kids and it showed every day of our lives. They are still living never contact the kids, call etc. It's almost impossible to pick out a mothers day card, birthday etc. because I have to find the most generic card possible. If you had parents like this you are not alone.

I wish I had moms like you. They never had expectations or goals for the four of us. They could care less that I put myself through 4 years of college, was a union journeyman plumber or became a successful professional sales person who is raising 5 wonderful children under 12 with the greatest woman I have ever met, she deserves the best mothers day ever, not the woman who gave birth to me. This is a strange day for us.

So congrats to you who had Moms who loved, cared, taught you life and is still there in spirit or in person. I salute them.

We didn't matter, we never did, never will. And oh yes we have tried too many times to count...

Your story is truely an anomoly. You've mentioned it before so I am not as surprised to hear it. It's an interesting comment on the nature vs. nuture continuing debate, that you should have the paternal instincts but were not raised with them. I don't have to tell you, you made out on the better part of the deal. Even though my kids are driving me crazy due to their teenage perspectives, they, and their Mom, are the reason I get up and go to work each day, and face it with a smile and a song. :) Ha! I can still get my kids out of bed in the morning to go to school by threatening to sing. It goes something like this: "Hey kids, I feel a song coming on." "No no no I'm getting up. Honest Dad. Please no singing. :) WW

For teaching us to always "have class," For being brutally honest when necessary, and for always making the best of any situation. My Mother's Cousin recently said: "When Colleen was given Lemon's....she made Lemonade....damned good Lemonade at that. First Mother's Day without you Mom, we'll have a Pomegranite Martini for ya.
