25 MMBH DHW

staging/rotation is all set by the PLC on board the cascading control network. The verto's run a little differently but ultimately are also controlled by the cascade control. The VSB's (CT3) preheat incoming dcw and supply some HVAC supply as well - but the priority is the production of DHW. And an interesting part of all this is the VAV combustion air control - as boilers come on line - the variable air volume MUA supply's "just enough" comb air for good combustion. On HF with all burners rolling - the boiler room will have a slight positive pressure - and at that time - I will conduct a final combustion check of all burners as initial testing was done with passive combustion air - (and tie up the cabling). The crew at KW must have stayed up late more than one night thinking about this!

Tip of the hat to Magnum Mechanical and Ken's Electric - IMO one of the cleanest installs I have seen. Some of you will recognize these panels as the cascade control on display at the 25th Anniversary shindig in Waterloo. Here they are - installed and making heat - about 25 million btus of DHW. When all 7 - G7 burners are on high fire - this boiler room rocks!!!0 -
25MMbtu's
I would love to be able to just listen to the sound of all those Weishaupt's at full throttle. Man o man.......makes me grin just thinking about it. Now, tell me what the heck kind of building needs 25 worth of DHW.
It looks sweet but I'd like to see the Sparky dudes bundle those burner wires and strap 'em up off the floor.
I do recall those panels at Waterloo. I did't hear what they were for while there but I could see they were designed to manage a good sized system.0 -

it is supplying wash down water for an abattoir and meat packing plant. In full production it will move 800 head of Alberta beef from on the hoof to your favourite meat market - that's in an 8 hour day. Plant is just north of Calgary Alberta. And yes - the cabling will be tied up - eventually ......on my next visit we hope to do a little fine tuneing for full flow through all htex's.
The vitocrossals preheat in coming dcw while the real horsepower is through the vitoronds. I'm not sure what the total gpm of dcw to dhw is - as they only use 1200 gallons storage - the rest is almost straight through heat. The room has a nice rumble to it at high fire.0 -
That's just plain sweet
I want to go there and see it feel it smell it touch it.............I'm just a gearhead at heart I guess. Mechanical stuff turns my knobs and the bigger and more high tech it is the better.
What type and size are the HX's?0 -
All flat plate - incredible gpm rate and heat transfer - next visit I'll take a few more pics - have a look at this LLH!0 -
All flat plate - incredible gpm rate and heat transfer - next visit I'll take a few more pics - the LLH handles the VFD pumps/three way valves and full flow out of the vitoronds - very neat engineering.0 -
Does that control
Does that control stage and rotate all the boilers by hours run or does it keep the Verto's on line first at all times?0
