Oil Delivery

I rode one of the tugs today that runs with the ship delivering oil to our town. The tanker offloads about half at another port and then comes upriver. Was a classic coastal day, rainy and foggy.
Two tugs join the tanker and have lines to the bow so the tanker pulls the tugs along while going up the channel. The tugs would provide steering and brakes should the tanker lose power or rudder control. Once beyond the bridge, one tug moves to the stern and both are used to push the tanker into position at the dock. Pumping will run all night. Don't know the price of this load-- have your credit card ready, operators are standing by.
