Went down to Tn a few weeks ago for Knight school, found that I was impressed with the product and people. Nice units with alot of features for the price.

Lockinvar Knight boiler
Pros/cons what do you guys think. I have an exsiting customer who wants to replace his troublesome condensing boiler with a new one. My local supplier is trying a new budget condensing boiler the Knight. I do not want to repeat this trouble pattern and would like to know what others have experienced with the boiler.
Thanks Jeffrey0 -
good pick
i just installed one and have several more sold seems like a great unit and comes with all the bells and whistles.
As with alot of products out there only time will tell but i am sure that this one is a winner.

I have 6 installed
including an entire season on one in my own home. About the only hassle is the NG to LP conversion. It takes some adjusting to get the moaning noise to disapper.
I've had this issue with the Ultra and Munchkin conversions also...
Lochinvar phone support is very good when you do have a question.
I plan on opening mine up this summer to check on the condition of the HX as comopared to others I clean on a yearly basis.

high temp application
Do you have any insight about using the Knight with fin tube bb? A while back I seem to recall a thread about PVC venting and possible issues. I plan to install one of these units in my place this year and was thinking that maybe it might be worthwhile to just use some Z-Flex. Also, do the vent and intake need to be the same length as some other mod cons require? It does seem to show that in the install manual.

Only PVC, CPVC or ABS
is currently listed in the Knight installation manual, page 15 table 3, as acceptable materials for vent and intake.
I'd like to see ALL the mod con manufactures add AL-29 as an acceptable option
