I like the tool alot.
Easier than by hand, but heavier, especially on ladders working overhead.
Try Mupro also as this is a REMS tool. May be cheaper than the same tool but with wirsbo sticker.
My battery for the propex tool is interchangeable with my Rems propress
tool.

Wirsbo Cordless Propex Expander - I need a critique of this tool

Pro's or Con's. Does the battery interchange with a Dewalt battery? I have been doing alot of 1" pex and you have better eaten your Wheaties to do more than a few 1" fittings. We do a tremendous amount of propex and this would see alot of use. Thanks for your input.

    Wirsbo

We have two of the older (blue) battery powered expanders and like them just fine. They are a little slower than hand expanding but sure do feel better on the arms after a bunch of connections and are alot easier to get into some tight spaces.

I don't know of any batteries that are interchangable with them.

Bought our second one on e-bay for a great price.

    The Battery Expander

is really a must have tool if you are doing a lot of joints....the hand one really messed with my shoulder. Don't know about the battery, don't have any Dewalt tools or I would try it for you. Just bought 1-1/4 and 1-1/2 inch heads for my tool, going to see how it does on some bigger stuff.
There is one for sale on Ebay right now going for 800.000 just missed getting one last week for around 500.00 got snuckered with 4 seconds left..... Grrrrrrr......
Tool does go through batteries pretty quick, but it's still way easier than pumpin' by hand!!!!!
If your doin' a bunch, it will be a great investment.... now all ya got to do is convince that tight wad partner of yours to part with a few of his moldy bucks...... :-)

    Sold several this year...

2 went back for repairs, leaked oil. The turn around was 7-10 days. Customers who do new construction swear bt these and say it has drastically cut labor and isn't that what it's all about. Kind of pricy...

    Thanks supply house Rick

I will get a hold of my supplier and see if I can get a deal on one since we buy SO much wirsbo product.

    Battery powered expander

If you already have other needs for a compressor on site consider the pneumatic expander. Cheaper by quite a bit, and I think expands faster without any downtime issues with recharging.

Bought one new from my local supply house. Still very expensive, even with the discount.

Used it three times and it failed. Seems to not have enough fluid in it.

Yes, it uses 12V DeWalt batteries, and the chargers are identical. I had the charger apart, they are identical inside.

I dislike paying through the nose for a product, only to be disappointed by catastrophic failure.

My manual expander has not failed, and due to its simple design, I doubt it will.

Sorry to be the naysayer, but I just ain't too happy. When it worked it was great.
