gas explosion

my point exactly. That concept of procedures and training works for other stuff too. Situations that are a no-brainer or second nature for some, just aren't for others.

    I guess

I'll just preach to the choir on this.

    Training-procedures-more training-follow procedures.

Go home in one piece at the end of the day.

    I think

I think his point was to show proper training and procedures will take you home at night! Safely and without a fine to boot. I cannot imagion doing any upgrade to a piping system and not doing a pressure test..

    Whew!

We work with dangerous stuff. The owners involved here better consider themselves lucky that they got off this easy.

    You are 100% correct Larry.

    Explosion

The tenent of the building in question is my auto leasing agent. He's lucky he's not toast. Just last week we had another gas explosion in our area (Los Altos), of which I'm hoping to hear more details.
I hope these incidents will spur the legislature to institute a llicensing program for plumbers in CA, like they recently did for electricians. About 15 years ago it was talked about but the clash between union and non-union pretty much sunk it.
