Buderus w/ Riello High co?
I have a customer with a Buderus G115/5 with a Riello 40 f5. It has been 2 years since the last cleaning, I cleaned it used the .85x60b Delevan nozzle that they request and is the same nozzle that it has had all its life. Pump @180psi, head @3, air 2.75. Upon testing I have a 13.8 co2 and no smoke, a 33ppm co. and -.03 breach draft. tried another nozzle and had the same teat. If i increase the air to 3 or more it delays on start. I brought the head back to the 1 that they suggest and the co2 goes to 14.3.
Any Ideas?

13.8 sounds normal for that set up. What was your stack temp?

buderus boiler
the company i work for pushes the burnham v-8 as their top of the line and pennco/dunkirk for lower cost boiler, i am trying to get my boss to try some buderus boilers.. i like the way they are built and they seem to have good people working for them, [ meet some at hershey show.] but i get gun shy with what seems like alot of problem set ups with riello/buderus comb. i have good luck with riellos but is carlin or beckett a better choice for this boiler???does direct venting make burner choice change??0 -

most of the Buderus in this area are the 3 and 4 section and most all with Riello, most of them run 11.7 to 12.4 that I can live with but 13.8? maybe I'm just to old school.

I like the Riello with the Buderus and setup is "usually easy" however this one is running fine just high co2. I have seen this with the Dunkirk 3E100 series with the L head Beckett also 13.0 to 13.4 co2

Buderus ratings are based on a 13% CO2. Smooth light off, 33ppm, zero smoke, I'm comfortable with that. With an 86%afue you have to have a low stack temp and high CO2. I have several that I service. Year to year they are very clean inside.

The higher the CO2 with zero smoke, the better, not worse.
