Belknap mono flow tee

I have in my hand, a Belknap Mono flow tee. It was installed in with one end of the run attached to a radiator valve (supply end), the other end of the run attached to the radiator, and the branch attached to the return. The mains is piped in a fashion similar to mono flow, but the tees are closely spaced. Two questions: how does it work, and can I utilize thermostatic radiator valve.

The internal tube on the fitting
goes into the sections and puts the hot water on the other side of the other side of the radiator. TRV should work.Retired and loving it.0
