Have you checked out Quickbooks' Customer Manager program?
I recently purchased it, and am in the process of just starting to use it(watching the tutorials) since I'm a novice with this stuff, so I can't really vouch for it. But it looks simple enough, it is searchable, has a calendar, job notes, history, and allows links to other files from each customer history. Check it out at quickbooks.com. Maybe someone else here uses this program and can comment on it.-----Al

Looking for a software program to record heating system info, i:e boiler/burner make/model etc...traking service repairs and tune up reminders.... no billing features needed. Something basic. All ideas would be helpfull..

To construct something like that using a database. Not having much success given my limited computer skills. If you find something like that I'd like to know about it.
