Thermal break for garage slab.
This may be a silly question but in a radiant floor garage slab, is there anything done to provide a thermal break where the slab runs over the frost wall at the garage door openings? I will be running the rigid foam insulation up the inside of the frost wall but what is done where the garage door openings are? Or is the heat loss so minimal that I shouldn't care. I guess it will keep my doors from freezing to the ground. My concrete guy brought it up, I never really thought about it before. I'm also pouring an apron in front of the garage doors. Thanks!0 -
Thermal Break
We use 1/2" felt that is used for expansion joints on sidewalks it gives you a thermal break and should work pretty well, unless you live in a very cold area and want the garage at 70 degrees.
