Check-Trol Isolation Flow Flanges

I am in the process of re-piping my boiler and was interested in using B&G Check Trol Isolation Flanges. Are the Check Trols a good product and relatively trouble free or should I stick with the tried and true Flo Control valves ( B&G SA-3/4) to prevent gravity flow?

I use them

now that I am a contractor. I used to sell them when I was in wholesale and I readily believe in them. Do yourself a favor and price out a set of flanges, sweat ballvalves, flow-checks and the labor to put them together. Then price out the check-trols.

So far so good

I have used them on about 4 jobs now. Nice product. Nice quality, and assembly work for a component made in China

Be sure to purge well, or burp the air at the output flange nuts. Sometimes they will trap air and not let the pump get it's prime. Merely burp them, by loosening the flange bolts, to be sure the pump volute is full.

I would put a tee with a boiler drain downstream or you wont be able to drain the supply loop.
