Low volume Auto Feeder

Not too long ago, I remember mention of a low volume auto feeder which peaked one of my contractor's interest. I am not familiar with this so I have two questions.
1 - Who makes such an animal
2- Why would you use a low volume instead of a standard feeder?
As always, your help is appreciated. Thanks in advance. E-

water feeder
I believe the Safeguard OEM boiler feeder are set at 2 gpm and have adjustable delays and feed rates (in gallons).Good idea for adding water slowly into hot boilers and for waiting for the condensate to return before adding more water.
