Out with the old and in with the new.

The system is forced hot water with the old rads. The homeowner told me yesterday that they are more comfortable now then they were with the old system. When I first bid the job I clocked the gas meter just to see what the old boiler was cooking at. The 5 cubic foot dial was spinning like crazy. Now I have to sit there and look to see if it is moving at all.

How is this for size.
The old boiler that we removed was 650,000 btu's and the new one is 172,000 btu's. The house was built in 1895 and has been update with new windows and insulation. One of tne sections weights just as much as the new boiler does.

Gravity System?
I like what I see... Yet another heating bill cut in half, if not more.0 -
Somebody's gonna be saving a LOT of money.0 -
Great job!
Mike, all that I can say is great job! It was a win-win situation for the owner. They will save a ton of money in fuel and they got a very professional install. Its always a pleasure to see a nice neat piping job. Too often we go in after an installer that home-runned copper tubing, out of square to steel pipe, in a boiler replacement. I always wonder what those guys were thinking! Keep up the good work! amhwrite0 -
repost of the pic's,
Sorry about the pics, I will post them agian.0 -
tell the owners
To expect the pleasure of a visit from the gas company to check and possibly replace the meter. Maybe even a couple times! The utility people will be quite confused with the smiles from the owners as they visit.
Not only did the owners save themselves a bunch of money, they also did their part to save a precious resource and help the environment. Good on all of you.
Any pictures of what came out?
