the boiler's output may still be a bit more than the radiation you have. Try down-firing just a bit.

short cycling on pressure
I installed a new boiler on a 2 pipe vapor system. There was a hoffman loop which I took out and installed a Gorton # 2 and two Gorton # 1's. One main is 66 feet long 2 1/2 ". And one main is about 75 feet 2". The vaporstat is set to cut out at 12 oz. and the diff is set at 6. I got a call today that once everything gets hot it will short cycle on pressure. On for 30 sec then off on pressure. What should it be set at? I waas going to set the cut out at 14OZ and the diff at 12OZ. Would that cure the problem or Do I need more venting? THanks.0 -
If everything is hot when it starts to short-cycle
then all the air is out. Maybe the firing rate is a bit too high.

I measured all of the radiation
and sized te boiler properly by the EDR. It's a gas boiler. If I set it up with a wider differential would that make it stay on and off longer?0 -

Or ...
If it is a orifice type vapor system, then you need to mulitply your calculated EDR by .8 to arrive at the EDR the boiler actually sees.

Are you sure you cleaned it enough?

probably not
I probably didn't clean it enough because it was getting late and I am going back for an inspection anyway. I skimmed it and replaced all of the wet returns. Hopefully thats it. I'm going back tommorow and i'll skim some more.0
