Anyone ever heard of using a woodstove to heat a watercoil in a forced air setup? How about supplying a convector?

it can be
done, there are a lot of varibles involved.
the question that springs to mind is does your woodstove have a water jacket on it or are you going to try to
homebrew some sorta set up. where you run into trouble is the safety issues depending on what you do. how do you control the fire and keep it from running away etc.
I happen to know that there are people on this web site
better qualified than myself to steer you in the right direction. search some of these wood fired boiler sites
Im sure you can pick up some info, My exfather in law had
a big wood stove with an air jacket built around it and had forced air blowing through it and into duct work through out the house, worked great until the fire died about 3 in the morning. good luck

certainly has been done with a hot water coil
YOu have to make sure you have constant circulation on the pump or you will be producing steam in a hurry. An aquastat can certainly be used. I used to play around with them when I was in the southern tier, (I'm back in the big city nowadays). They are alot of work. If you like to constantly play around with it you can get them to work well, but you will be monkeying with it alot. If it is for yourself, go ahead, if it is for someone else, I don't think I would, that is unless you are single and she is real cute0
