    or wye strainers

Why? because those new check pumps don't handle even the smallest spec of debris. I had one stuck partially open with crud, and today one jammed shut with a strand of a copper from tube reaming.

Save a problematic call back and add a strainer to all your systems :)

    Dirt separator

We started using spirotraps on replacments, surprise at the amount of sediment/dirt/sludge from an existing heating system, even after flushing/purge system.
Will be included with installs just as we do with the spiral vent.

    last night around mid night...

i was purging anway and pouring my glycol out of the barrel when i noticed what looks like Really Thick grey stuf in the bottom of the barrel...so then i began to wonder what the heck is this...then i thought hmmmmm maybe it is some reason this stuff seperated out of the glycol...then i thought i ought to buy a strainer because the small check valves in the taco pump blocks might take exception to propyline that looks like that...i cant imagine why the stuff looks grey ... if it were oil id say the water had sunk to the bottom of the container after being mixed thru a high speed pump...anyone else ever seen new glycol do that? it came from the bulk plant straight to my own clean container...from a great big tank of the stuff.

    Y strainer

Where on the primary loop do you usually place it Hot Rod. After the make up water supply (which usually has it's own strainer) or just befor the return to the boiler?
