fan in can damper? /fai for dryer?
I am considering a fan in a can for my 1981 weil-mclain hydronic gas CGM-7P1 Series 7 210k BTU boiler which, along with a 1989 STATE 36K PRV50 HWH and a GE dryer, occupies a small utility room in my basement.
1-Does can in a fan have any kind of damper which would block the cold air from entering the room when the boiler is not in use? I know the fan only activates upon use, but it seems that cold outside air would descend through the duct on its own between cycles. (I guess I could try to make sure the utility room was sealed which might lessen the infiltration; just don't want that room to get too cold.)
2-Are there ways to branch off with a 'mini fan/can' for the adjacent water heater and/or dryer, since the main fan/can would only be good for the boiler. OR, perhaps if the fan/can (if it has no damper) was placed BETWEEN the boiler and the HWH some air would be available for the HWH--without the fan--and maybe even the dryer which is 5 feet away facing the boiler.

Fan in Can or Tjernlund
Thanks jack, I'll check it out. not sure yet precisely applies but I'll look closely at the site. Seems to have some separate computer/controller requirement, which might get a little complicated/expensive for a residence, but certainly worth checking out. Also gets tricky trying to keep the the FAI air away from the dryer exhaust vent and boiler combustion vent should I eventually get a new boiler with direct not chimney exhaust.

I stand corrected
Jack, having looked at the site closely, it appears that Tjernlund's 'Inforcer' has fairly simple controls. looks like it might just do the trick and take care of all the air intake needs of the boiler, dryer and hot water heater.
Thanks again,
