Sequenced modulating boiler control

Please correct me if I wrong here, but I don't think so.
Do you not need a Tekmar 265 or Vision 3 considering these are three Munchkin boilers? for multiple modulating boilers on one system? Otherwise the individual modulation controls for each boiler will not operate correctly. One of my friends called me yesterday to inquire about the Tekmar 264 that his boss had ordered for a particular job. I told him that he needed to tell his boss to order the correct controls in order for this setup to work properly. Thanks in advance for any input.

Well, if I remember Chuck Shaw correctly,

...and it's been a while, the Vision system seems like a better match for your setup than Tekmar. That is, unless HTP has released a dongle that allows the Tekmar to modulate the Munchkins.

I'd give Chuck or the rest at HTP a call, I'm sure they can point you in the right direction. Their number is (800) 323-9651 from outside MA, and (508) 763-8071 from inside MA. Perhaps Chuck or the others at HTP will also stop by the Wall today...

    Different capabilities

    Ross,

You're absolutely correct, get the right controller. The ability to control the boilers right will be key to the getting the most savings out of these boilers.

Only the Vision 3 can directly control the modulation. It provides single percent increments for the boiler modulation of each boiler. They don't expose the vision 3 to boiler protocol, so you can only get this from HTP.

The tekmar's can control the setpoint with the 0-10V input option (one per boiler,) but not the modulation level. The boilers will modulate themselves based on the 20F delta T target with the 5 stages that the 925 gives you.

    Thanks

    Thanks,
I thought that I was on the right track with this. There are so many people in this industry that just don't take the time to research anything and READ THE DAMN INSTRUCTIONS!!!
Gets kind of irritating when people that are supposed to be 30+ year veterans in the field and think that they know everything there is to know, and don't do little "digging" to find out if what they are installing is operating to it's full potential. We were at a steam seminar last week, and the topic of vapor/vacuum steam systems, particularly Webster, was brought up. I personally have only worked on Webster & Trane systems myself. You know the usual, Joe Schmoe from Hack-n-Slash Plumbing & Heating, says "Well.. I've never heard of such of thing" This guys works for the largest mechanical contractor in town. These are the guys, to which if they don't understand how something works, then out comes the Sawzall, and I think that you all know the type. I just don't understand why people have such a hard time taking a little time to do a little research. Thanks for allowing me to go on a slight tangent, fellow wallies!Take care & God bless.
