homeowners question

I just had a viessman boiler with a riello burner installed in my home. I was surprised once the job was finished that the sounds of the burner (or boiler?) were louder then the old unit I had ripped out. Heck I can even hear it standing out in my driveway. I was wondering if this is to be expected or if not is there a simple remedy?
thanks

riello's make noise in the chimney . If you had an old low pressure burner , the new ones will always make more noise . Sometimes you can make changes to the flue as it enters the chimney to help .0 -
noisey Riello in a Viessman
exhaust "mufflers" are available to help attenuate some of the burner noise as a lot of the objectionable sound is emitted by the vent. As you installer to ask his distributor.
Did you tell is which Viessmann boiler you chose?0 -
noisy boiler
Is the first piece of breeching out of the boiler very short, or does it make a 90* trun immediately? This will add to the noise and Viessmann says a 24" straight run oot of the boiler will minimize "chimney howl"

The funny thing is...
... I don't hear the boiler firing, but I do hear the circulators doing their work if it's quiet and I'm in a room with a wall in which the supply pipes are running. That's despite the near immeadiate 90° elbow in the flue at the back of Ms. Vitola. There is maybe 8" there, no more.
Perhaps some of these chimney howls are resonance issues?0
