well, the installer was a plumber and yes, we did address it with him. he said "call the propane people." and the propane people said, "i don't know what's causing that noise. call home depot tech support."

noisy, loud and it's brand new - bosch tankless

we have a newly installed bosch aqua star 250sx tankless hot water heater. propane. installed by plumber and checked by propane people. when we turn on the hot water, we get a loud deep humming sound (often this sound repeats and often the system shuts down and flashes an EC code.) for a while there, in addition to the loud hum, we'd get an intermittent high pitched whistle sound that was so loud the neighbors heard it. but after the propane man was here for 2 hours trying to figure out why we had the whistle sound, he left scratching his head and said that all he did was to adjust the co2. he said that if he put the c02 where the manual recommended, the whistle sound would be continuous, not intermittent and the humming would, too. but since he's been here, the whistling ended. but we still have the deep hum.
so - what is the cause of the sound and what should we do about it?

it's kinda hard to diagnose a problem over the internet, but I'd look at the gas pressure at the gas valve.

It could also be a water flow problem. Does it make the noises more or less the same with differnt water flows?

\" Call Home depot Tech Support \"

SO does that mean you bought it yourself ?

Which is why the plumber dos'nt want to help ?

If thats the case, than call Bosch and talk to tech support, or call your plumber and tell him your willing to pay him his time to figure out the problem.
