in with mine
here's a boiler my Dad installed about 25 years ago. I was about 15 or so. Just remember it was Christmas time with snow on the ground and having to drag new and old boiler around the back of the house. Woman had no money so he used alot of the old stuff over. This time it was a sunny day with no rush for heat.3 zones plus HWM'er and 86% eff. sorry pictures are a little dark.Dave0 -
I'll bet
I'll bet Dad is one proud man!!0 -
Old One
Old one looks neglected. New one looks great hopefully they can afford to take care of it.

Dave...
i realy like your installs , just a note ,can you still swing open the door? and it would be a lot easyer to clean that boiler if you could get to it from the left side, the more room you have the better cleaning job can be done IMHO ...but all in all a very neet install...David0 -
yea
door still opens, can clean from front and right side.Tight but can be done, good thing I'm a thin 210lbs. thanks dave0 -
Good job Dave
I like the idea of the strurdiness with the black steel returns . You can also lift off the whole swing door if something is in the way . Don't ask how I know that .....
210 , huh ? I think i passed that at 19 . Oh , what I could do if I was back at that weight ....0 -
yup
like strong headers, got scaried when I uncrated the boiler and the header nipple was hanging out. They must have dropped the crate along the way. 210 at 4foot 2inches isnt bad is it?lol Dave0 -
Very nice work
The old boiler definitely was on its last legs, but seems to have been installed with some care. It always fascinates me to see older homes where nothing but what looks like 1/4" piping is used for the hot water. We're all so spoiled these days, with 3/4" mains and similar distribution inside the home...
Yoru new boiler is joy to behold, like all the installs you show us here. I like the steel manifolds, it gives the pumps a good, robust resting spot. I like how you moved the pumps over to the supply side and also how the indirect was squeezed into position. Those folk will thank their lucky stars for having you improve their hot water situation!
The full-port valves and all the other attention to detail shows why hiring an expert will always be a better choice than going for the low bid. Congratulations.0
