Cold start/Back Pressure

Usually no, depends on how long it has run etc. lack of temperature on boiler will affect draft in chimney etc. If the unit has run for a considerable period and has good draft on breech side and is still positive over fire, it could be a problem in heat exchanger or burner settings. All of this assumes natural draft boiler, good chimney draft and cleaning did not take place last spring with unit just being fired.

Cold start/Back Pressure
Question.
On a cold start boiler, is it common to have back pressure in the combustion chamber when it is fired after a cleaning?0
