envelope shown in the second pic???? looks unopened to me....
The brass orfice will be in there. Also check out page 9 of the boiler manual, it shows you where to look for the orfice or install (unistall) it.
Yeah, it's unfortunate that someone would throw a tag like that where it don't belong, but stuff happens and boilers are still being tested on 4:59 on Fri. :-)
If that was the worst thing that could ever be said about an Ultra....
Do I understand you right that you bought this boiler and are having someone else install it??? I'm wondering why he didn't purchase it???? Are you sure that he knows what the heck he's doing installing this boiler??? These boiler are NOT your Grandpop's kind of deal and MUST be installed properly for them to work correctly. Make sure the the installer follows ALL directions to the T!!!

    Any WM reps out there?

I just received my WM Ultra 105 last week which will be installed in the next couple of weeks. I ordered one for natural gas but I'm not sure if that is how it is set up. Check out the pics. The label on the crate says natural gas. The label on the inside of the boiler indicates natural gas but the label that is wire-tied to the gas line says propane. I know it is pretty straight forward to convert but I like to get what I ordered and paid for. I can provide the serial number to WM but I'm not sure if they can track it or not. It looks like the propane tag was added by mistake since the inside label states natural gas???? Thanks.

Is the brass ring that would go in the gas valve still ...

in the bag???? If it is then the label is probably a mistake. At any rate it would only take a few seconds to take the three torques screws out of the gas valve where it mounts to the blower and look to see if the ring is in there. That's the only thing that converts the 105 to LP. The 80 is the only unit that comes either or.....
If the brss ring is in the gas valve pull it out and make sure that it doesn't have LP 80 stamped on it. Wish you had a pic. of the HX so it could be verified what size you got.

I could not find the brass ring in the bag. I'm not sure what angle you wanted for the HX but here are a couple of pics. I'm just a little pissed that I have to be concerned with this. I know it's an easy fix . . . Would WM rep come out and do it our should I just drop it and let my installer change it out??? Thanks again.

    Floyd,
I'm not going to install the boiler. My current boiler has a crack in the jacket and I'm running out the rest of a tank of oil then I will have my installer put in the Ultra and my shiney new Triangle Tube Smart 50 indirect. The new boiler and tank are sitting in my basement ready to be installed in the event that my old boiler suddenly lets go. Otherwise, I'm going to run out my tank of oil. I'm happy that I have found an installer who would work with me and let me run my current boiler until the bitter end.
p.s. Yes, I did look in the yellow envelope but did not see the orifice.

    The Ultra 105, 155, 230 & 310 come

packaged from the factory with conversion orifices to convert from NG to LP. No specific gas versions are sold except in the 80. As the label says, consult the boiler manual that came with it. Page 9, specific instruction on "preapring the Boiler" figuire 2 is for the 105.

    Eric,

Weil-Mclain had a shipment of natural gas boilers leave the factory that had the tag you saw on them in error. The distributors were notified of such and were to have made changes. If you can provide me with the serial number of the unit, I can tell you if this is one of the units. Thank you and sorry for any inconvenience.
