    My Apologies

I must apologize to Dan and all of the Wallies for being somewhat scarce over the past two weeks. My mother had kidney failure on October 4th and has been on and off dialysis as well as on and off the ventilator for the past couple of weeks. I have been spending most of my time at the hospital with her, trying to make her as comfortable as possible.

I would like to thank John Levey, Bill Anderson and Steve Carroll for stepping in at the college to help our students while I am taking care of mom. You guys rock!

    Hey Prof......

...I'm so sorry to hear about your mom's problems.

You and she will be in my thoughts and prayers.

    God bless,

    Thanks, guys

Mom and her kids (me included) have been spending a lot of quality time together over the past days. Thanks in part (a big part) to all of you guys on The Wall, these rough days are a little easier to cope with.

Our rabbi, friends, mom's doctors, aides and hospice nurses at the home have been spending a lot of time with my mother, my siblings and myself to help make this transition easier to cope with when the time finally comes. Last Sunday (October 16) the doctors gave her about 48 hours to live and she is now on day 7. Every additional day we have together is yet another gift she has given us.

My mother is completely at peace and comfortable and enjoying every minute of every day, which makes it a hell of a lot easier on us kids. Her appetite is as big as ever and after lunch today, insisted on going downstairs to go play BINGO with the ladies.

Thanks for all of your prayers and support.
