Colombia Boilers?

is alive and well, here's a link to their site:

If the boiler really is dry-base steel and is old enough that they don't stock chambers for it, try Lynn products- R.E. Michel carries their chambers. If they don't have a specific chamber in their catalog, one of their "Timesaver" chambers for dry-base boilers should work OK.
If this is a cast-iron Columbia, it's the same as a Utica with the letter "C" added to the Utica model number. You can cross-reference it that way.

Corbell / wet pacs ?
My cousin a hundred miles away is after me to come put a wet pac or what ever in his boiler, says it's a colombia dry base. Where do I get a pack for it, or a chamber or what ever it takes? Lynn ? Make one ??? Can't find anything on the web about them, I know, they're ancient. House was built in 1880 not that the boiler was.0 -
witch one?
the columbia gem i dont belive you can get one, the emerald are still available try RE micheals . putting a wet pack into that boiler will reduce the size of the chamber, the only way to make sure you get it in right is to slpit the top and bottom, remove the jacket and top clean out cover there a loop in there chain it to floor joist after you drain boiler , remove the 4 bolts and slid out chamber0 -
Columbia
The Columbia FT series had a poured chamber and was a bear to wet pack as you could only work from the burner port unless you raised the boiler. The wet packs would not last that long. The better repairs would be to replace the base. If that is what you have, you would be better off with new equipment due to the age. The L series was more receptable to a wet pack repair.0 -
Well, I gotit fixed. Come to find out it was a Colombia Emerald, ( my customer is a truck driver, boilers he's lost) I put wet pac on the walls to take up the room, then a Hot Box. Fit real snug. Cut the burner hole, view port, sealed the voids, and it's better than new. downfired it, works great, thanks people!
