Got Heat ?

Went out to a job site yesterday to help start a munckie that wouldn't fire. Got to the job site and everything looked fine. Told the electrician to turn on the thermostat since he was the one who did all the wiring of Taco boxes, wiring boiler and thermostats. Well when he turned on the thermostat nothing happen. Thats when he told me ," See this boilers broken , it would fire at all." Well after checking the gas cock I found that it was in the off position and thats why the Munchie kept going off on flame sensor. To top that off I found that also the thermostat was in the off position. So what I did was turn the gas cock on and set the thermostat to "heating only". After that everything worked, imagine that. Just some of the things we all have to learn from and deal with. Should get a few laughs from the wallies. Off to see the Broncos tommorrow and see the IRL race Sunday. Stuff always runs better with juice and fuel. Ya just never know...........

How true

You would not believe how many calls I get for simple things like this. I had a call from a home owner, and she was cursing the boiler and me because I wouldn't send someone to her residence. I had her call the person who does the service on her boiler, I find out the service switch was off.

When diagnosing over the phone you always have to start with the basics. You can't assume the person on the other end has checked these things.

When you call a manufacturer, please don't be annoyed when we ask you to check the simple things like fuel, power, call for heat.
