A GREAT day for racing in the Rockies...

Thanks to Matt Carr of Dahl Denver for taking me to the races today. Perfect cool partly cloudy watching weather. To make things even greater, we ran into Dennis Bellanti of Ferguson who gave us some pit passes to boot!

Thanks guys, I really enjoyed it.

Mark, I was next door watching the Rockies get slammed again. Did you see the fighter jets fly by about 2 PM?

    races

I saw the Porsches come in 1, 2, 3, ahead of the Vipers, Corvettes, Cadillacs, and GTOs in the GT sports car Challenge. You gotta love those little 6 cylinder rear-engined slot cars.

I went to Friday Night Fights @ the Pepsi Center on Friday. I'm a huge boxing fan. I sat on thr floor on an isle with the fighters walking right passed me. Finally a live show I can go to thats close.Fights were great, even the ones in the stands. Thats what happens when you mix beer and angry pumped up fans. Never got out of hand really. but I did have tickets to go to the race yesterday but didn't feel like going. Don't like CART.
C.andy A.** R.acing T.eams. Tickets from the fights got me into the Cart race. IRL is what I like. Taking some contractors this Saturday to see the races in Fountain. PIT passes and all. Hope to see some of the wallies there.

    You guys make me green

    with envy.

I love ANY kind of sport that includes engines & speed, but I'm stuck in the cultural wilderness called Louisiana.

No open-wheel racing closer than 1,200 miles.

I suppose the southern weather (very hot & humid with lots of predictable rain) make it a non-starter.

Oh well, I'll just stick to fishin' & BBQ'n under the carport :O)

What's that, donner und blitzen again, 1" today, yesterday & the day before. Hmmmmmmmm.

the grand daddy of all pure power rides, Top Fuel / Funny Car. I go to the Mile-High Nationals every year in Morrison, CO. Now thats real raw power. The kind of power can bring people back to life from beating of your heart.
If you have not been, better go.

    Open Wheel Racing

I follow F1, ChampCar, and IRL. This September I have tickets to the inaugural IRL race at Watkins Glen. Even though I live only an hour and a half away, it will be my first trip there.

I,m looking forward to this, it should be a blast! Open wheel back at the Glen.

    Pray for Sun!!!

    Luck dog, lucky dog

Open wheel at Watkins Glen should be incredible, it's perfect for it. The Nextel/Busch/Nascar this last weekend @ W.G. was a great race.

Oh well, I've always got the telly (& surround-sound). Better than nothing eh!

I can put the TV on the carport & watch humming birds @ the same time.

  • The jets shook my body...

to the sole. Made me think of all the Americans we've got spread out all over the world. Also made me glad they weren't lookin' for me!

Can you imagine being hunted down by them boys? The bullets are landing all around you before you even hear the roar of their engines. I'd imagine that at that moment in time, you'd want to dig yourself a hole, and climb in it, not that it would do you ANY good.

    Quite the show...
