McQuay Radiator Corp. and Base-Ray Ratings

I'm trying to find radiator ratings for several old gravity convectors. Each has a thermostatic radiator trap. They were installed in this house about 75 years ago. They were called "invisible radiators" when installed. These convectors have an air inlet grille and an outlet grille. I believe they were made by McQuay Radiator Corp. The actual radiator has many metal fins.

I'm also trying to find radiator ratings for a couple of Base-Ray radiators, possibly installed in the 1960's.

The house also has some American Radiator Corp. plain pattern radiators. What is the best source for ratings on these?

I am trying to determine if an American Standard G-606 steam boiler is oversized. It is rated for 1813 square feet of steam.

    What you need

is Dan's book "E.D.R.". This is a compilation of old radiator and convector ratings. McQuay, American and Burnham are all in there. Get your copy on the Books and More page of this site.

If your American radiators are the Corto type, measure the width of the sections. The ones in E.D.R. have sections 2-1/2 inches wide. If yours are 2-inches wide, I have the chart for them.

The "Invisible Radiator" line was made by Herman Nelson Corp. Ratings for these can be found on "The Library" page of this site.
