Can You Remove Sections From A Cast Iron H/W Rad

I have a cast iron radiator that i would like to make narrower, can i remove sections easily?

    Are there small steel rods running across the radiator at top and bottom?

    The radiators held together with threaded rod are the easiest but often it requires a little application of heat from a torch and the use of a hydraulic porta power or a couple of chisels, when putting back together I use silicone rubber (RTV) and let the stuff set up before applying any system pressure
