Geothermal,& the cost associated with the installation

Folks usually avoid pricing here--too many variables from place to place.

Well costs may depend on

1) System type: open-loop, closed-loop, standing-column?

2) Well diameter: 3", 6", 8", other? Will the hole be considered a well (requiring permits) or a bore hole (perhaps not requiring permits)?

3) Depth to bedrock and casing material (stainless steel gets pricey).

4) Is grouting included? The grout? Insertion of the loops?

5) Is the insertion warranted in case the loops fail (e.g. develop a leak) from a manufacturing defect (i.e. not the well drillers fault). Does the well driller carry insurance?

6) Availability (or scarcity) of well drillers in your area. Not many well drillers here, so prices may be higher than where you are.

    Geothermal and all associated costs?

I work for a HVAC supply house in Utah,My question is to any contractor the has the experiance installing GEOTHERMAL equiptment. We recently had a manufactuors rep do a quick demenstration on the equiptment and said the equiptment is about 1/3 more in cost than my 90+ % equiptment that we sell. But when asked about the cost of drilling the wells or the cost associated with running horrozontal loops I really feal that something was missing. He replied that for a 3 ton system tht the cost of drilling a 200 foot well was about $2500 for each of the 3 wells needed, but it seamed to me that wasn't all of the story. I may be wrong , but I am confident that I could get a streight answer from you .
your imput will greatly be appreciated.

ps.....I'm a misseed place wet head from NEW YORK and stuck in the land of scorched air, I know nothing on the air side so I become sceptical when someone trys to sell me the Brooklyn Bridge, and that's 3000 miles away,
I have alot at stake here, trying to learn a new buisness and trying to watch out for my employer,
I will accept and info that you might have to there efficenceys, to the cost of the wells, and the equiptment...
Also is the cost associated with using this as a sorce for
heat in a radiant heating job
    Thank you

    costs

are usually 2-3 times of forced air. Driller in my area gets 1250 a hole, includes pipe, antifreeze, and header in basement. Holes are 175' deep. Equipment varies greatly in price. You get what you pay for.
