    Plumbing Question

Question for some of my fellow plumbers.
I just finished the plumbing in a brand new house and the home owner has complained of odor. I went to check it out and found that in one toilet the water level was very low inside the bowl. I gave it a flush, filled it back up and watched the level in the bowl gradually become lower. this toilet is vented of the stack but I dont think its a venting problem anyways. I allready ordered another toilet but I wanted to see what some of you guys thought.

    odor

You will most likely find a crack or casting defect in the bowl. crane had this problem a while back. Had to change out several - they leaked on the floor in some cases. When the bowl level drops without other fixtures being used, usually indicates a leak -- as you suspect.

or sandhole for sure .. allowing water out of the bowl and into the lower trapway where is is dumping into the soil piping ... no puddle is very possible

    Have had that happen

    also.

COuld also be capilary attraction from something in the bowl like a rag sucking the water out.

    Either way, change the bowl.
