Loud Bang Every 15 Mintues

Its difficult to solve a problem thru a computer screen but I may send you in the right direction.
Its sounds like you may have zone valves on your heating system. That may be the black box. If it is the kind that shuts off rather quickly, that may be causing the noise.
Do you have your own boiler or is it common to the conda association ? A larger boiler with many zones may have such a large pump that one zone shutting would cause a bang like that. Pipes may have come loose and adding to that problem.
What ever your problem is, I don't think it is something you can solve on your own. You'll need a contractor to look at the system and help find a solution.
I hope this helps and try giving more info, maybe we can track it down.

Loud Bang Every 15 Minutes
We recently purchased a Condo in an apartment building in the summer time. The heating system in the condos are loop hot-water heating (baseboards with coils). Now that it is getting cold outside we have noticed a VERY loud bang about every 15 minutes. The condo is always very warm and we have the thermostat completely off (to the left) but it still remains very warm. We seem to think the noise is coming from one particular corner however its hard to tell - it's possible it's not even coming from our suite. In the corner with the noise, I have removed the baseboard and there is a something black and electronic there (sorry for my ignorance). There is a valve in another room that we have tried to turn off and on but that does not help the problem. Does anybody have any idea what the problem is. It is very annoying to say the least. Any help would be greatly appreciated.0 -
Zone Valves
installed backwards can bang. Check to make sure it's installed pointing in the direction of flow.
