looks all new. did the Gorton get twisted in by the case rather than the base? if distorted it might not seal. It may be just a bad vent or tef. tape blown up into the valve surface, take it off and wash it out. Is your pressure normal ( less than 2psi)

Balancing steam mains
The dry return on the left is 1 1/4". The total run for that main is about 36 ft. It comes out the header 1 1/2".
The dry return on the right is 2". The total run for that main is is about 55 ft.-60 ft.
Both main vents are Gorton # 1's
Problem: Steam comes out of the 1 1/4" dry return main vent.0 -
This was a boiler repipe job. I noticed when I was testing it that the pressuretrol was too high. It was @ 3. So I cranked it down a little below 2. It calmed down alot after that. However a very small amount of steam would spit out here and there.0
