    Heating Granite Countertops?

    Greetings from snowy Colorado,

I am getting ready to finish off my new kitchen build and somebody mentioned Granite tops get very cold which makes sense. My house has water based heat which I am planning on adding a radiant loop under the stone floor.

Is there a product that can fit under Granite tops for warming ? Seems like running Pex wouldn't really fit,

    thoughts ?

    I did my bath

concrete counter tops with tube cast into the slab also.

I wonder, however, that some of the electric mat or cable products could be fastened from below the granite? Be interesting to try that.

This is a scrap piece of the Watts Radiant electric mat. they, and several others also have a wire only system.

    hot rod

Here's a link to a PM article I did last year describing heated granite countertops.

    electric mats work really nicely

I know a tile store that has their granite customer counter heated that way. Man is that nice to do business there.

I passed on the heated granite. I use the granite as my working board, and heat would make baking harder (when I get the time to do it.)
