what you mean. I'm trying to slow the hot water from leaving too quick. At what CV do you cross the line to counter-productive. e.g. just a trickle of hot water at the tub. HO gets annoyed because it takes too long to fill tub. ????? WW

Need an Anit Scald
mixing valve for an indirect water heater. Customer has a Jaccuzi tub that depletes the tank way quick. What brands do you use and why? WW

Holbe, comes to mind
1st, get an idea of the gpm and temp you want. then look to tempering valves. There is a lot of parameters here to be aware of. If it is just plain shut it off at a perdetermined temp. a solonoid valve and Johnson Controls thermistor aqua start would do super.0 -

I agree with Scott. Honeywell/Sparco AM101-R-US. 3/4" w/sweat unions ASSE1017 (80-180). Use an AM101-C-US if you need to conform to ASSE1016 (120 deg or less). Add a pair of AMCU-100'S if you need checks on the inlets. Should be less than $90 at any wholesaler. Otherwise Powers 490's are a similar valve 90-160 deg. Good luck.0 -
i concur
I have used the sparco units in exactly the way you describe with great results.

Watch the Cv
on those Sparco's. You may need 1" or larger to fast fill a large tub.

I was
looking at a Caleffi anti scald. It had a cv of 2. How much cv does Sparco have. How much do I need?

ditto...to the Sparco
I have one on my own 60 gal. SSU. I have had it running for 2 years w/o a hitch...I like the unions they give you because if there was an issue it is a quick change out. The Cv issue may be somewhat moot because if they are running out of HW ,it may be a good thing to restrict some flow...jmo. kpc

Tub fill is one of the best reasons
to look at the on-demand units. When I fill my tub with my Rinnai I just set the touch pad for the temp I want in the tub and that is what it makes. Great for kids and really convenient...and efficient. I have one touch pad in each bathroom and one in the laundry.0
